3,5-Dichlorobenzoyl chloride (3,5-DCBC, CAS 2905-62-6) is a high-purity, reactive acyl chloride and a key building block for pharmaceutical and agrochemical synthesis. Its activated carbonyl readily undergoes Friedel–Crafts acylation and amide/ester formation, making it a valued intermediate for the dry-eye drug lifitegrast, the herbicides propyzamide and oxaziclomefone, dichlorobenzamide derivatives, and specialty fine chemicals.
