Diethylene Glycol Diethyl Ether (DGDE)
High-Boiling, Low-Odour, Water-Miscible Glycol Diether (Ethyl Diglyme) — Inkjet Co-Solvent, Coalescent & Industrial Cleaning Solvent
CAS: 112-36-7 EC: 203-963-7 Assay: ≥ 99.0%
Diethylene glycol diethyl ether (DGDE, ethyl diglyme, bis(2-ethoxyethyl) ether, CAS 112-36-7) is a high-boiling, low-odour, water-miscible glycol diether valued for its controlled evaporation, good resin compatibility, and strong solvency. It is widely used as a co-solvent in inkjet inks, a coalescent and film-forming aid in waterborne and solvent-borne coatings and adhesives, and a slow, low-odour solvent for industrial cleaning, where it can replace faster-evaporating, stronger-smelling solvents. Royalchem Spain supplies it at ≥ 99% purity as a clear, colourless liquid, delivered from our Valladolid distribution hub by drum, IBC, or ISO tank with COA and SDS for every batch.

*Regulatory: EINECS-listed (EC 203-963-7); supplied in line with EU REACH requirements; manufactured under ISO 9001. GHS — Warning: causes skin and serious eye irritation (H315, H319). A combustible liquid (flash point ≈ 82 °C) — not classified as a flammable dangerous good for transport. As a glycol ether, it can form explosive peroxides on prolonged exposure to air and light — store protected from air and light, and test for peroxides before distilling or heating. Handle with gloves and eye protection. Always refer to the current SDS.

• Density (20 °C): ≈ 0.90 g/cm³
Inkjet Co-Solvent
A high-boiling co-solvent and humectant for inkjet inks that helps boost colour density, keep printheads wet, and ensure smooth, reliable jetting in water-based digital printing systems.
Coatings & Adhesives
A coalescent and film-forming aid compatible with many resins, supporting pigment dispersion, flow, and levelling in waterborne and solvent-borne systems — a lower-odour replacement for faster-evaporating solvents.
Industrial Cleaning & Process Solvent
A slow-evaporating, low-odour, water-miscible solvent whose long contact time aids industrial and precision cleaning, and which also serves as an extraction and reaction medium in chemical processing.
