Tetrahydrofurfuryl Acrylate (THFA)
Low-Viscosity Mono-Functional UV/EB Reactive Diluent — High Adhesion to PC, PET, ABS & Metal for Coatings, Inks, Adhesives & 3D-Printing Resins
CAS: 2399-48-6 EC: 219-268-7 Assay: ≥ 99%
Tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate (THFA, CAS 2399-48-6) is a low-viscosity, mono-functional UV/EB-curable acrylate monomer built on a cyclic-ether (tetrahydrofuran) ring. It combines low viscosity and low volatility with excellent adhesion to difficult substrates — polycarbonate (PC), PET, ABS, and metals — together with strong solvency and fast cure, making it a popular reactive diluent in UV/EB inks, coatings, varnishes, adhesives, and 3D-printing resins. Royalchem Spain supplies high-purity THFA (≥ 99%) with a controlled MEHQ inhibitor level for stable storage and transport, delivered from our Valladolid distribution hub by drum or IBC with COA and SDS for every batch.

*Regulatory: EINECS-listed (EC 219-268-7); supplied in line with EU REACH requirements; manufactured under ISO 9001. GHS — Warning: causes skin and serious eye irritation (H315, H319); as an acrylate ester it may cause an allergic skin reaction (H317) in sensitive individuals and may be harmful to aquatic life — avoid skin contact and release to waterways. Stabilised with ~150 ppm MEHQ to inhibit polymerisation; protect from heat, light, peroxides, and other free-radical sources. High flash point (> 110 °C) — not classified as a flammable dangerous good for transport. Always refer to the current SDS.

UV/EB Coatings & Inks
A low-viscosity reactive diluent and adhesion promoter for UV/EB coatings, varnishes, overprint varnishes, and inks on plastics (PC, PET, ABS) and metal — cutting viscosity while improving substrate wetting and adhesion.
UV Adhesives, Sealants & 3D-Printing Resins
A fast-curing reactive diluent for UV adhesives and sealants where strong adhesion is required, and for stereolithography (SLA/DLP) 3D-printing resins needing low viscosity and good mechanical build.
Specialty & Functional Coatings
Used in fibre and textile surface treatment and transfer-printing auxiliaries, nanocomposite binders (for example Ag/polymer systems), and other functional UV-curable formulations.
