2-Amino-5-nitrothiazole (ANT; 5-nitro-1,3-thiazol-2-amine; 5-nitro-2-thiazolylamine; CAS 121-66-4) is a high-purity yellow crystalline nitrothiazole and a key pharmaceutical and dye intermediate. As the amine building block of nitazoxanide — a broad-spectrum antiparasitic and antiviral API — and of related nitrothiazole actives, it is widely used in pharmaceutical synthesis and research, and also serves as a diazo component for disperse azo dyes (blues and violets) used in synthetic-fibre dyeing.
