Cyclohexanol (cyclohexyl alcohol, CAS 108-93-0) is a saturated cyclic C₆ alcohol and one of the highest-volume organic intermediates in the chemical industry. Its principal destiny is the nylon chain — oxidation to adipic acid (nylon 6,6) and conversion via cyclohexanone to caprolactam (nylon 6) — while its high boiling point and strong solvency also make it a valuable solvent for coatings, lacquers, and degreasing, and a building block for plasticisers, rubber chemicals, and pharmaceutical synthesis. Storage Conditions:
Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat, ignition sources, and strong oxidising agents. Note the melting point (≈ 25 °C): the product may partially crystallise below room temperature — gentle warming (≤ 40 °C water bath) fully restores it with no loss of quality.
