N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-N-methyl-p-Toluidine (MHPT) is a hydroxy-functional tertiary aromatic amine used as a cure accelerator (promoter) for room-temperature, peroxide-initiated free-radical polymerisation. Paired with MEKP or BPO, it speeds the cold cure of unsaturated polyester, vinyl-ester, and acrylate systems, while its hydroxyethyl group gives lower volatility and a paler cured-resin colour than conventional accelerators such as DMPT or N,N-dimethylaniline. Nexal Inc. supplies MHPT at ≥ 99% assay as a light-yellow solid, delivered from our US distribution hub in Houston, Texas, in pails, drums, or IBC.

Accelerator for MEKP-cured unsaturated polyester and vinyl-ester resins — gel coats, hand lay-up and spray-up laminates, castings, and SMC / BMC. Its low colour suits white, pastel, and clear castings where conventional amine accelerators would darken the part.
Used in automotive body fillers, polyester putties, and acrylic / structural adhesives that require a fast room-temperature cure together with good colour retention and a controllable working time.
Works alongside cobalt promoters to balance gel time, pot life, and through-cure. The reactive hydroxyl group also allows the amine to be built into polyester or polyurethane backbones to give non-migrating, "bound" accelerator systems.
Standard Packaging:
25 kg pails or 200 kg drums, with IBC available for bulk orders. Distributed by Nexal Inc. from our US hub in Houston, Texas. Shelf life 12 months in original sealed packaging.
Storage Conditions:
Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat, direct light, and oxidising agents; nitrogen blanketing helps preserve low colour. Store and handle strictly separately from organic peroxides — never mix the accelerator directly with a peroxide initiator.
