N-Methyl-m-toluidine (N,3-dimethylaniline, CAS 696-44-6) is a secondary aromatic amine and a versatile intermediate for dyes and pharmaceuticals. It combines an aniline ring bearing a meta-methyl group with an N-methyl substituent, giving a reactive secondary-amine site for coupling, acylation, and alkylation. Royalchem Spain supplies it at ≥ 99% purity as a colourless to pale-yellow liquid, delivered from our Valladolid distribution hub by drum or IBC.

Coupling component and building block for azo dyes and organic pigments; its meta-methyl and N-methyl groups help tune shade, brightness, and substantivity on the finished colourant.
N-methyl-m-tolyl building block in the synthesis of active ingredients — most notably the antifungal tolnaftate, for which it serves as the characteristic amine moiety and reference impurity.
Secondary aromatic amine reagent for custom synthesis, agrochemical and rubber-chemical intermediates, and a methylated toluidine building block for N-acylation and N-alkylation chemistry.
Standard Packaging:
200 kg HDPE or steel drums, or IBC totes (approx. 1000 kg). Distributed by Royalchem Spain from our Valladolid hub. Shelf life 24 months in original sealed packaging.
Storage Conditions:
Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, dark, well-ventilated area, away from heat, ignition sources, oxidising agents, and acids; nitrogen blanketing is recommended, as this aromatic amine darkens on exposure to air and light. Toxic — handle with respiratory protection and full PPE.
