N,N-Dihydroxyethyl-m-Toluidine (m-tolyldiethanolamine, MTDEA) is a tertiary aromatic amino-alcohol and one of the most important coupling components in the disperse-dye industry. Diazonium salts couple para to its tertiary-amine nitrogen to yield a broad palette of red, violet, blue, and black disperse and solvent dyes for polyester and synthetic fibres. Royalchem Spain supplies industrial-grade MTDEA at ≥ 99% assay as a light-yellow liquid, EINECS-listed under 202-114-8, and delivered from our Valladolid distribution hub by drum, IBC, or ISO tank.

Primary coupling component for disperse dyes on polyester and synthetic fibres, including Disperse Red 5 / 12 / 16 / 17 / 128 / 129, Disperse Violet 33 / 40 / 43, Disperse Blue 96 / 295, and Disperse Black 4 / 10. The meta-methyl group helps tune shade depth and wash- and light-fastness.
Building block for Solvent Red 117 and a range of azo and reactive dyes (e.g. Reactive Red 10, Reactive Orange 3). Its two hydroxyethyl groups provide reactive sites for further derivatisation into more complex colourant structures.
Used as a polymer additive / auxiliary and as a curing agent and accelerator for epoxy-resin systems, as well as a versatile building block in fine-chemical synthesis.
Standard Packaging:
200 kg HDPE or steel drums, IBC totes (approx. 1000 kg), or ISO tank for bulk. Distributed by Royalchem Spain from our Valladolid hub. Shelf life 12 months in original sealed packaging.
Storage Conditions:
Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct light, heat, and oxidising agents. Nitrogen blanketing is recommended to prevent oxidation and colour drift, which is important for downstream dye quality.
