Propylene glycol (MPG; mono propylene glycol; 1,2-propanediol; CAS 57-55-6; EC 200-338-0) is a clear, nearly odourless, hygroscopic liquid diol (C₃H₈O₂, molecular weight 76.09, boiling point ≈188 °C, density ≈1.036 g/cm³) and one of the most widely used multi-purpose glycols. Low in toxicity and fully water-miscible, it serves as a solvent, humectant and stabiliser across pharmaceuticals, food and beverages (food additive E1520), and cosmetics, and as a versatile industrial raw material for unsaturated polyester resins (UPR), antifreeze and heat-transfer fluids, de-icing, paints, and liquid detergents.

Storage Conditions:
Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from strong oxidising agents and ignition sources. The product is hygroscopic — keep sealed to prevent water pick-up; use stainless-steel or lined tanks and segregate food/pharma grades to protect quality.
