It is the primary building block for the acaricide/insecticide amitraz and the herbicide/plant-growth regulator mefluidide, and a key raw material for high-grade azo pigments such as Pigment Yellow 81 and for solvent dyes; it also serves in pharmaceutical and dye synthesis.
