N,N-Dimethyl-P-Toluidine

N,N-Dimethyl-p-Toluidine (DMPT, CAS 99-97-8) is a tertiary aromatic amine supplied by Royalchem at ≥99% purity (GC). It is one of the most widely used amine accelerators in free-radical polymerisation: paired with a benzoyl peroxide (BPO) initiator, DMPT drives fast curing at room temperature in a redox "cold-cure" system, removing the need for heat.

N,N-Dimethyl-p-Toluidine (DMPT) is a tertiary aromatic amine that serves as the standard reducing co-accelerator in benzoyl-peroxide (BPO) redox initiation, enabling room-temperature ("cold") cure of methyl methacrylate and related vinyl systems. Nexal Inc. supplies industrial-grade DMPT at ≥ 99.0% (GC) under an ISO 9001 quality system and REACH registration, ready as the amine activator for self-cure dental acrylics, orthopaedic bone cement, and acrylic adhesives, and delivered from our US distribution hub in Houston, Texas by HDPE drum, IBC, or ISO tank.

Main Applications

Dental & Medical Acrylics

Amine activator paired with benzoyl peroxide for room-temperature cure of self-cure denture base and repair acrylics, temporary crown & bridge resins, and orthopaedic PMMA bone cement.

Adhesives & Sealants

Redox amine accelerator in anaerobic threadlockers and second-generation acrylic (SGA) structural adhesives, delivering fast, reliable fixture at ambient temperature.

Resins & Polymerisation

Accelerates peroxide cure of unsaturated polyester and acrylic casting resins, and acts as a redox co-initiator for vinyl / acrylonitrile polymerisation and an intermediate for dyes and colorants.

Storage Conditions:

Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat, sparks, open flames, oxidising agents, and direct light; nitrogen blanketing recommended. Regulated for transport: UN 2810, Class 6.1, PG III (IMDG / ADR / IATA).
